What is Hypno-Band?
Hypno-Band is a programme of treatment designed as an alternative to gastric band surgery. It includes cognitive approaches and hypnotherapy. It brings about a state of mind where your body reacts as though you have had a gastric band fitted surgically but you do not have to go through physical surgery.
You will eat smaller portions and feel full sooner. It is a long-term solution to weight problems.
Can I get this treatment?
This particular treatment is only for people who are classified as, "Clinically Obese". That is with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher.
If you are not obese but would still like to change your problematic weight management then ask about other forms of counselling and hypnotherapy.
Why is Hypno-Band better?

How long does it take?
The standard programme is over 4 sessions of about one hour each. They will be about a week apart. There will be things for you to do between sessions.

How much does it cost?
Hypno-Band is £200 for the four sessions. A follow-up session is highly recommended around 2 months after completion and this is charged at £20 for up to one hour.

- Introduction to hypnotherapy linked to counselling for weight loss in the first session
- Eating diary supporting initial counselling and hypnotherapy

- Hypno-surgery to fit the band in the third session
- Final (fourth) session for reinforcement and band adjustment if necessary
Is it guaranteed?
Normal surgical gastric band surgery is not guaranteed to make you lose weight and neither is Hypno-Band. If you engage fully with the procedures it is very likely that you will lose weight and keep it off. If you are totally serious about losing weight then it will certainly work for you.
Can I have an initial, free, consultation?
At my practice this is the first step. I will carry out a brief assessment. I will explain the process and you will be able to ask any questions. You will not be expected to make a decision to proceed at this time but you may, of course, do so if you wish.
