About Hypnotherapy

Dr James Braid (1795 - 1860) is regarded by many as the 'Father of Hypnosis' for he was the man who coined the term "hypnosis". This is claimed to be a picture of his first attempt at hypnosis.
About Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is now a therapeutic approach in its own right and is a very powerful way to make comparatively rapid changes to feelings or behaviours like smoking or over-eating. It is also used with just about every other therapeutic approach ranging from a method of simple relaxation to accessing hidden memories from childhood that give rise to current problems.
In therapy, Hypnosis is a state of relaxation that anyone can achieve with or without the aid of a hypnotist. It relaxes the logical and often over-protective conscious mind and allows easier access to your massive sub-conscious where all of your feelings, emotions and memories are. A lot of this will have been locked up in your sub-conscious so that you are not normally aware of it and it may be the source of unexplained fears, actions or emotions.
Hypnosis can be used to suggest and bring about changes for the better.
We use it in therapy in many ways -
* It can be used to immediate effect to help replace unpleasant feelings, anxieties and phobias such as a fear of snakes or flying, for example.
* It can be used to uncover and resolve, when necessary, hidden feelings and memories from childhood and, some might say, even before.
* It is a very powerful tool for people who want to give up smoking or lose weight.
* It can be used to encourage and develop your own healing processes, often alongside conventional medical treatments.
* It can be used to relieve pain where it is appropriate to do so.
I would like you to understand that -
* It only happens if you want it to.
* It will always work, with your co-operation.
* You will not do or say anything that you do not want to.
* You can end the trance whenever you want to.
* It should be seen as a tool used to aid therapy and it need not be used at all.
* Most people find it a pleasant, relaxing experience.

Smoking Cessation Therapy
This can address and remove your desire to smoke using hypnosis. It can also, using other approaches described here, discover the hidden reasons that lie behind why you think that you cannot give it up or even sometimes why you do not really want to give up smoking.
Probably the most important thing a smoker can do for their health, bank balance and quality of life is to give up smoking. Often they do not really know why they continue to do it.
Why not get yourself a longer, healthier, happier and richer life?
